This Topic Page is a guide to Working With Awarding Organisations

Background

Seafish itself is an awarding organisation (AO) for some fish specific training courses and qualifications. Seafish's status as an AO is largely informal, though our qualifications are widely recognised.

Seafish and the Seafood Training Academy work closely with other, Nationally Recognised Awarding Organisations such as the Royal Environmental Health Institute for Scotland REHIS), the Chartered Institute for Environmental Health and Food and Drink Qualifications Ltd. Some of our Partners work closely with other bodies such as City and Guilds.

Sources of Information

REHIS - Joint awarding partner with Seafish for food hygiene, HACCP and and Bivalve Purification programmes.

We also support and deliver REHIS' Intermediate Food Hygiene by eLearning programme;

FDQ Ltd - provider of fish and shellfish industry skills qualifications and a close working partner with Seafish and the Seafood Training Academy.

Most Seafish recognised apprenticeship providers are FDQ Fish and Shellfish Industry Skills approved centres. For a list of these centres click here;

CIEH - Seafish (and other Seafood Academy Partners) are CIEH approved training centres. Seafish's open learning programmes in food safety and H&S are usually used to deliver CIEH qualifications;
