Background

With five AFOS smoking kilns at our disposal, the Seafood Training Academy is able to offer smoking training courses at our main centre (Grimsby Seafood Village) and a variety of other venues across the UK. Courses will range from 1 day introductory to 5 day advanced practical courses.

Attendees on the 2 and 5 day training courses will be expected to have studied either the full eLearning programme in seafood smoking (for 5 day courses) or the open leaning module on fish smoking (for 2 day courses) BEFORE they attend the practical courses. Smoking eLearning starts here.

Grimsby Seafood Village - Various during 2017 and 2018 - please email academy@seafish.co.uk for up to date information.

New for 2017 - additional coaching sessions will allow trainees to manage thier own kiln and produce their own product for 1-3 days following a course.

One day introductory courses in S and N Wales subject to sufficient demand - via the Seafood Training Network for Wales.

Scottish Network - dates to be announced.

- Other venues - subject to demand, but likely to include other parts of England and Northern Ireland as required.

Course Costs - estimated between £150 and £200 per trainee per day of training, subject to the number of trainees and the nature of the programme. Please contact the trainer or Seafish for a more accurate costing. NB: all prices published on the website and in leaflets are for guidance only.
