The Fishmonger Trailblazer was devloped by a a small group of fishmongers under the Chairmanship of Andrew Kenny of
Cross of York Fishmongers and National Federation of Fishmongers. The Standard and Assessment Plans were published in late 2016 and early 2017.

- Apprenticeship Training Providers:
Organiations that will assist employers with administration, training and preparation of the apprentice for their final assessment
- End Point Asessment Organisations: The body(ies) that will be responsible for administering the end point knowledge test, skills assessment and professional interview.
- The process of demonstrating skills and knowldge and completing the apprenticeship:
- The External Quality Assurance body that will ensure that the process of achieving the apprenticeship is appropriate, consistent and fair to all apprentices: -
