    Bespoke fish filleting courses in Northern Ireland a huge success.

    For the first time in many years, manual fish filleting courses have been delivered in Northern Ireland. Sea Source in Kilkeel have trained 16 staff in the art of fish filleting through a series of 2-day courses arranged by the Seafood Training Network Northern Ireland in partnership with Seafish, Sea Source and Fisheries Consultant, Hal Dawson.     Goals for NI Network published - November 2015

    The goals for the Network have been published and are available here.

    12th March 2015 - Network launched at the Burrendale Hotel, Newcastle , Country Down.

    Following an opening address by James Wilson (Seafish Board Member and Chairman of the Seafood Training Network Wales), Dr Lynn Gilmore (Seafish Northern Ireland) and Lee Cooper (Seafish and the Seafood Training Academy) signed the terms of reference for the Network, bringing the Network into operation.

    To celebrate the launch employers and training providers also signed the terms of reference - Grainne and John Lavery of Fish City, Beverly Wilson of BW Consulting, Nichola Cook and Bridget Noade of Southern Regional College, Alan Hanna (NFFF Executive Council) of Pitstop Fast Food, Kat Deuchars of John Dory's, Ashley Moore of SFITA NI, Hal Dawson - trainer, Paul McCormack of Belfast Metropolitan College, David Hill of Sea Source, Daniel Whittle of Kilkeel Seafoods.
